LE COQ SPORTIF LCS R800 X SNEAKERBOX “HUMMUS”

Le coq sportif is proud to present a shoe created in an exclusive collaboration with Sneakerbox TLV to mark their 7th anniversary. This first pair of shoes designed by the brand in collaboration with an Israeli sneaker store are a wonderful evocation of the city of Tel Aviv.

In order to give these shoes a truly Israeli feel and international appeal, the designer Sagie Maya took inspiration from one of his favourite dishes: hummus. A great classic of Israeli gastronomy that comes from Tel Aviv, hummus is an integral part of the landscape, as much as beaches and nice cold beer. It was over there that Sagie Maya drew inspiration for the LCS R800 Hummus.

The shoe is made from premium materials in different colours and textures, in tones that perfectly match the shades of a plate of hummus. The elegant green suede evokes the colour of parsley, and the burgundy that of paprika, while the nubuck and beige linen are reminiscent of hummus. Three pairs of laces, one green, one ochre and one paprika, offer three colour combination options, while the insole replicates these 3 colours at the front of the foot. On the tongue, as well as on the box and dust bag, the two logos come together as one: the SneakerBox wings appear on the sides of the le coq sportif triangle.

For the box, Sagie has opted for Eastern patterns and colours, giving this limited edition model a special and authentic vibe.
The Le Coq Sportif LCS R800 x Sneakerbox “Hummus” will be launching on Saturday 17th February; ONLINE 00:01GMT here, and IN-STORE 10:00GMT.

The third time appears to be the charm on this spring’s Highs and Lows x Le Coq Sportif R1000 drop.

Following forays inspired by both black and white swans, this “Cygnet” style sees the baby bird evoking both softer shades and thus a softer sentiment.

Pale pink poses next to white and grey tones as an homage to the young swan’s elegant appearance, making the most of the leather and suede composition the retro running genre has grown know for.

Slated to take flight on April 21st in a limited fashion at the likes of 24 Kilates, Hanon and of course Highs and Lows, see the tail end of the HAL x Le Coq Sportif trilogy below.

HANON X LE COQ SPORTIF LCS R800 “THE GOOD AGREEMENT”
By Mario Briguglio - May 23, 2018

HANON Le Coq Sportif LCS R800 Release Date
French sportswear label Le Coq Sportif and Aberdeen based sneaker shop HANON have teamed up to release the LCS R800 retro runner, dubbed “The Good Agreement.”

This collaboration takes its name from the English translation of ‘Bon Accord’, the motto of the city of Aberdeen, where HANON is located. It dates back to the middle ages, a period during which there was an alliance between France and Scotland. HANON and Le Coq Sportif have thus taken their inspiration from this ancient alliance to create a new one, bringing together the best of France, Scotland and England.

The mix of unique materials, which is the signature of this LCS R800, finds its perfect expression through the union of three companies, each with a history that dates back over a century: le coq sportif, C.F. Stead and Halley Stevensons.

Built with premium materials, the retro runner features a micro-perforated pig skin lining that’s applied to the inside of the shoe enhancing the all-round premium feel, and the insole features a special collaborative logo lock up printed on a stitched pig skin top layer which is then completed by way of a C.F. Stead suede laminated footbed. Additional details to symbolize the exchange of know-how and history appear in the form of embroidered dual branding on the tongues in the form of a neat Halley Stevensons woven tongue tab as well as further dual branding embossed on the heels of each shoe.
