“In the year two thousaannd,” Kobe Bryant made the adidas Crazy 1 famous. Seventeen years later, Adidas hits us with an evolved and modernized silhouette, the adidas Crazy 1 ADV PK.

The return of the Crazy 1 features a complete Primeknit upper that adapts to your movements providing a flexible feel. Leather and nubuck define the collar lining, sockliner and heel counter to further the evolution. In addition, metallic gold lace tips and a semi-translucent outsole provide the finishing touches to complete the comeback.

With this in mind, open Sneaker Politics in new tab and scoop a pair.

Much of what Kanye West designs in the realm of footwear has always encapsulated high fashion influence. Implications can be noted in the shaping, lines and curves. The adidas Yeezy Wave Runner 700 features all that and then some, positioning the shoe as one of the most anticipated and versatile releases of the year.

Anna Wintour, Editor in Chief of Vogue, is a huge fan and personal friend of West, often seen front row at Yeezy Season fashion week presentations. Thus, it’s clear to see why the Wave Runner 700 is prominently featured in an upcoming edition of Vogue Australia.

Paired alongside elongated gowns, super wide leg trousers, layered skirts and more, the Yeezy Wave Runner 700 holds its own in a well-executed styling presentation from Christine Centenera. Photography from Jackie Nickerson captures the shoe from all desirable angles, exposing its versatile grace juxtaposed in tandem with elegant garms and varying use of proportion.

Release details for the adidas Yeezy Wave Runner 700 “White” have not been announced.

Kim Kardashian, wife of Kanye West and frequent leaker of all things Yeezy-related, shared yet another previously unseen model on her Snapchat today.

The Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 Wave Runner maybe be capitalizing on the current "dad shoe" trend, but these infant-sized samples were made for the couple's children, North and Saint. Kardashian explained in the brief video clip that they had just been delivered.

According to a tweet by Yeezy Mafia, the samples are only for the West children, but Yeezys have released in infant sizing in the past.

The Wave Runner 700 launched in standard sizing back in August on a pre-order basis, however shipment isn't expeceted until Nov. 1. Check out a full look at Kardashian's delivery below, which included more than just the kids' pairs.

adidas NMD R2 “Chinese New Year” // Another Look

OCT 19, 2017

As they’ve done in the past, adidas will release Chinese New Year iterations of some of its most prominent silhouettes in 2018. The forthcoming adidas NMD R2 “CYN” is seen in greater detail today, showcasing the nuance of the design inspired by the Chinese zodiac.

Utilizing a clean white palette with crimson accents that highlight the CYN and three stripes branding, the shoe is rather subtle considering past editions have been much more overt. Boost rests below for a comfortable ride while the footbed features metallic gold Chinese symbols.

Take another look at the adidas NMD R2 “Chinese New Year” below and expect the release early next year.

It's possible that the internet will preview the entire Adidas Ultra Boost 4.0 run before the variation even hits retail.

Seen here are images of the new pattern in a soft pink, salmon-like colorway. The hue is featured on the runner's Primeknit upper, cage and counter, while white Boost and black Continental rubber support the ride below.

Adidas hasn't announced a release date for the Ultra Boost 4.0, but it's expected to hit stores this winter.

The adidas Yeezy 500 may be the shoe of choice for Kanye West’s famous family and friends, but when it comes to the man with the laptop he’s all about the adidas Yeezy 700.

Often seen in the V2 styling, Ye was caught out and about wearing a new take on the original.

Graced in what looks like grey but could pass for plum, this semi tonal take finds contrast in the form of yellow accents on the midsole.

Release details are unknown but expect new shoes and a new album sometime in the future based on this new pic below.

With the inevitability of an adidas NMD R3 set to release soon, the brand with the three stripes continues airing out new releases of its successors. The NMD R1 returns today in a new colorway with black Boost midsole tooling.

Laced in a maroon mesh upper, black color Boost is offset by midsole decorations that match the base. Although relatively simple, don’t expect this adidas NMD R1 Maroon/Black to last long. Grab a pair now at JD Sports.

After working on the Adidas Samoa in 2016, Los Angeles-based lifestyle brand Oyster Holdings is back with a premium Adidas Originals collaboration built with spring in mind.

Composed of two colorways each of the retro Handball Top and 350 models, this Oyster Holdings x Adidas capsule also includes matching apparel and friends and family exclusives. The Handball Top receives a premium suede build with leather paneling and chalky translucent outsoles in "Ash Blue/Chalk Coral" and "Easy Yellow/Ash Blue." Meanwhile, the 350 silhouette takes on a look closer to the brand's work on the Samoa with tonal nubuck uppers in "Trace Scarlet" and "Ash Pearl."

Elsewhere, Oyster Holdings chief Woodie White also applied the brand's "traveling is a sport" mantra to friends and family colorways of the Handball Top and 350 in scarlet and green, respectively.

Set for a global release on March 29, the sneakers can be purchased early from travelingisasport.com for $130 apiece.

Less than 24 hours after Kanye West revealed new iterations of the Yeezy Boost 350 v2, Yeezy 500 and the upcoming Yeezy basketball shoe, the often unseen, newly re-tooled Yeezy 700 appears in a “Utility Black” colorway.

With a varying midsole that tracks wider than the original, the sloped upper of this 700 is slightly more slanted as opposed to the retail debut. A combination of suede and leather fabrication adorn the modern-day “dad shoe” which comes retro-fitted in a weathered aesthetic.

Kanye West has been on a tear lately and it’s poised to be another huge year for brand Yeezy. Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming adidas Yeezy 700 “Utility Black” release.

Alexander Wang and adidas Originals are joining forces for their third season of collaborative shoes and apparel, and the collection features a brand new silhouette from Wang, the Bball Soccer in both an orange and a black colorway. The shoes feature a classic adidas Football shoe upper done up in a premium suede set atop a chunky midsole with white Boost cushioning. One of the main themes of Wang’s third collection with adidas is factory imperfections, so the shoes also feature an upside-down adidas tag on the tongue and trefoil logo on the heel accompanied by three “factory-labeled” deubrés on the laces. Debossed “Alexander Wang” branding appears on the lateral side of the shoe’s heel and both colorways are rounded out with a gum and black outsole. No pricing information on these hybrid kicks is available yet, but look for them to release alongside the collection’s collaborative apparel April 21st. Update: Releasing April 20th 6:00pm ET at SNS and 7:00pm ET at END. Expect the collection on alexanderwang.com at 10:00am ET, April 21st.

Comparing The Adidas KB8 3’s Influence On Kanye’s Yeezy 500

APR 21, 2018

When most people think back to Kobe Bryant’s early era with Adidas, it’s the original KB8 — since re-dubbed the “Crazy 8” — and The Kobe — often dubbed the “Toasters” — that quickly come to mind.

As the brand has re-released several of the earliest sneakers that he wore with The Three Stripes, one more obscure model that’s always been oft forgotten since it first released during the 1999-2000 series was his third KB8 model.

Launched just as the Lakers were switching up their classic jersey style for a modernized take fit for a new millennium, as the story goes, Kobe was also looking for a design shift from his footwear.

He was over the podular flow of the Feet You Wear line, and looking for a more sleekened and streamlined aesthetic for his series. He only wore the KB8 3 in a trio of colorways, before soon switching to the Forum 2000, a simplified update to the brand’s 80s classic.

To appease Bryant, Adidas soon tapped Audi and co-designed a short-lived line of auto-inspired The Kobe silhouettes to kick off the 2000s, before he abruptly left the brand just after the 2002 season.

While the KB8 3 — often also referred to as the EQT Responsive — has barely even registered a mention in recent time, that all changed this year. As Kanye West’s namesake line looked to launch a new batch of bulky and heavily paneled pairs, the new Yeezy 500 silhouette actually draws some of its most defining parts directly from the Bryant shoe.

Since I’ve long loved the Feet You Wear era and its funky design language, it was a welcome surprise to see the always-frenzied Yeezy series celebrate some of the line’s best quirks. I actually still have pretty much every sneaker from my high school and college days, and was able to uncover my original pair of the KB8 3. They were worn during my sophomore year of High School for JV hoops, and have been aging ever since.

Apparent below in a detailed side-by-side comparison, the Yeezy’s midsole design is only slightly altered in certain zones, with thicker rounded edges through the forefoot pods, a rubber midfoot arch shank in place of the KB8’s full-length support plate, and an added rubberized panel just above the pods.

The most noticeable difference can be found when looking down at each shoe, as the Yeezy’s pods are more pronounced in general, none more than the inner heel pod that now houses an Adidas logo in place of the Feet You Wear “Freddy” icon. It goes without saying, but the upper designs are entirely unrelated, with the Yeezy 500 opting for a more busy overlay-driven look that combines mesh, nappy suede and leather insets, while the KB8 3 offered up a simple court-block driven design.

Check out an original size 14 pair of the Adidas KB8 3 alongside a current size 13 pair of the Adidas Yeezy 500, and let us know your thoughts on Twitter. If you’re after even more knowledge and history from Adidas’ much loved Feet You Wear era, you simply must check out our comprehensive FYW overview.

Japanese label PORTER is no stranger to working with adidas Originals. Just last year they partnered with the German sportswear giant for a collaborative take on the NMD Chukka. This year, PORTER’s latest with adidas circles a much older model.

They opt for the Campus silhouette, a heritage gem that’s recently seen a resurgence. Coated in premium nubuck across the paneling juxtaposed against PORTER’s best-selling signature “TANKER” textile, a sleek noir sentiment is offset by a vibrant orange hue — another PORTER trademark.

The PORTER x adidas Campus will release on May 3 with an accompanying luggage collection. PORTER’s most popular designs — the 3Way Brief Case and the 2Way Boston Bag — anchor the capsule. Expect the full collection here upon release.

Another adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 will be releasing in Summer 2018 and the “Ice Yellow” version will be joined by this “Sesame” colorway. The shoe’s colorway looks to be more greyish across its Primeknit upper with a touch of light khaki as well. A matching Boost cushioned midsole and gum outsole finally completes the clean two-tone theme altogether.

Back for the first time since 2011, the adidas Montreal 76 has surfaced overseas.

A free spirit like the era it originated in, the shoe’s striking detail is its protruding gummy midsole which folds down on the heel giving this sneaker dual life as a clog.

Alexander Wang and adidas Originals Reveal Upcoming Footwear

Long-standing collaborative partners adidas Originals and Alexander Wang are back again for the second drop of their third collaboration after last month’s release of a new chunky Bball Soccer sneaker. Consisting of an AW run and two colorways of the AW Reissue Run, the second part of the collection is inspired by mistakes and inconsistencies in a factory’s quality control process. The AW Run features a clean black Primeknit upper with a full-length white Boost midsole and gum outsole, while an upside-down trefoil logo on the lateral heel gives it a perfectly imperfect look. The AW Reissue Run features a layered mesh upper with suede accents on the tongue and a neoprene heel. Bold branding arrives on the tongue, and the shoe’s unique lacing system moves all the way from the forefoot to the heel, appearing as if it holds the upper together. Care instructions appear on the two-tone midsole and an outsole with heavy tread rounds off the shoe’s loud aesthetic. Both silhouettes will be available on adidas.com May 19th alongside a co-branded capsule collection of apparel.

'Butter' Yeezy Boost 350 V2s Get a Release Date

Summer is heating up.
BY VICTOR DENG

It looks like the colorway for the rumored Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 v2 releasing in June is changing again. According to the Yeezy Mafia, the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 will now be sporting a "Butter" colorway now instead of "Peanut Butter."

While there are no official images of the sneaker yet, a mock-up photo above shows what the shoes may look like ahead of the release. The rumored drop has received three changes now—from "Ice Yellow," to "Peanut Butter," to now "Butter."

Along with the release in June is another Yeezy Boost 350 V2 in "Sesame" rumored to drop in August 2018.

UPDATE (05/31): After reporting a tentative June release date, Yeezy Mafia is now locking down the day. According to the recently-reactivated Twitter account, the "Butter" Yeezy Boost 350 V2 will release Saturday, June 30 for a retail price of $220.
