It aint hype. There was 24 or 26 murders out of 100,000 people last year and that was the lowest murders Compton had in many many years. BUT 24 out of 94,000 is very high compared to all large cities when you calculate how many murders per 100,000 people. Also, there are many parts of Compton where murders take place that they dont count towards the City of Compton but instead tally it over to L.A. County.
for example, ou got areas in Compton like East Rancho Dominguez (East Compton)
LHP, DHCC, KPCC, NHCC, ADCC, CVCG, CVTG, CVS, BP (if they still around) - all murders in these hoods dont count for Compton
Willowbrook = PHCC, parts of FTP, parts of MPCC, AGCC, CPCC, SHCC, 4BCC (Foe Blocc), CVL36, CV124, CV126, CV117, VTP = murders in these hood dont count for Compton

West Compton/Rosewood/West Rancho Dominguez = OSCC, TZCC, WSP, CPP, CV155, 4Lines/5Lines = murders in these hoods dont count for Compton

Considering all that... Compton has always lead the USA murder rate with the most murders per 100,000 people with anywhere from 60 to 110 murders per year on avg when you include the gangs with Compton zip code but are in those county pockets.

Hamma, look it up. I saw a fuckin' DOCUMENTARY on NYC gangs in the 20's.
Anyways, why niggas making excuses. NYC is a city just like any other city in cali,
yet in the 90's, NYC murder rates were as high as 2,605 per 100,000.
And even with Bloomberg in office, to this day the murder rate is still higher than the CPT
number y'all givin'. Compared to NYC, CPT IS SAFE. Not in general, but compared to NYC, very much so.

Your comparing 5 boroughs (countys) to 1 city. I dont know the total murders for "ALL cities" in L.A. County but it would surpass all 5 countys that make NYC or would be the highest per capita.
for emphasis, NYC = 5 counties (Brooklyn-Kings/Queens/L.I./Staten/Manhatten) compared to
L.A. or Compton = 1 city

also 2,605 out of every 100k cant possibly be a fact. Add how many "100k's" go into 18 million (108 is the answer) then multiply 2605 x 108 = 281,340 murders in 1 year (what year did all 5 countys that make up NYC have this many murders combined?)

You're not speaking facts because you just got caught in a lie.
In YOU'RE OPINION the probability of being killed in Compton is higher than Brooklyn.
NOW you're saying that L.A. has more murders per 100k people when THAT'S NOT TRUE.
L.A. is at 6 murders per 100,000 people. That's about 230 murders a YEAR. Go look THAT up.
Brooklyn is at 179. And Brooklyn is a BOROUGH!. If an entire city has only 40 more murders than
a COUNTY, than Compton is A CAKE WALK.
Manhattan harbors 10 million out of 18 million people. And Brooklyn has the highest murder rate in the city, which means the population DOES NOT MATTER. It's the contents of the population that matters. Brooklyn is smaller in population, but is MORE DANGEROUS, therefore it has MORE MURDERS.
Like, NY and LA. NY is bigger than LA in population, but also HAS MORE MURDERS.
We are simply MORE DANGEROUS. Deal with it.
