The casinos first came to Shreveport around 1993, but before then it wasn't much popping. Not saying much was popping after they came either. Overall, Shreveport's murder rate pretty much paralleled Little Rock's, according to trends. Not much killing happening these days, just like Little Rock, because everybody been more on they money getting than riding on fools.

Late 80's and early 90's, it was cracking. I remember we stopped having concerts because niggas were getting ignorant. But for over a decade now, with the casinos in place and the RICO laws taking down some of the heavy hitters, Shreveport has been a pretty peaceful place.
