A 17-year-old boy was killed in a drive-by shooting Wednesday night near Kilbourn Park. The boy, identified as Martin Rodriguez, of the 3400 block of North Kenton Avenue, was pronounced dead at 8:56 p.m. at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. The victim's name was withheld pending family notification. The victim had exchanged words with someone inside a van in the 4500 block of West Cornelia Avenue at about 8:11 p.m. when a passenger got out and opened fire, striking the victim in the back, Police News Affairs Officer Gabrielle Lesniak said.
