to the wise
what fish dwells on land for prolonged periods of time , for sheer pleasure? What bird dwells in the lowest depths of the sea for simple observations? What worm has dwelt in space? What lion rules the entire country he lives in with an iron fist?.
Man is born upon the face of the earth, to walk therein. Yet we can venture into the lowest depths of the sea, of which 100; years prior no man has seen. We fly through the air higher than the eeagles do for the sake of travel. We have ventured the moon for the sake of observations and will power,and prior to 100 years ago, no man has done such. We can plunge into the depths of the earth,of which the birds of the air, and the creatures of the sea, and the beasts of the land have not even concieved in their minds. Through the work of our hands we can predict the harshest of weather, throuhh the work of our hands we can see light years away from our own planet,and Gaze at even a fraction of the beauty beyond.the work of our hands dwells on mars at this very same moment, im talking to you from thousands of miles away from a phone, at this very same moment.
Indeed we are gods here on this planet, but there are those greater then us,older than us, and more godly then us.
But ask yourself this, whether we only been here 6000 years, or 6 billion years, why is it that we have only achieved the above mentioned wonders, in the last 100 years???! Hmmm every century before this it seems like we only made minor leaps in advancement, then all of a sudden we can clone people and mix human dna with animal dna successfully. Yea, sounds pretty normal.

I'll take a stab at it, since I am old.
1. Factor 1, knowledge and achievement builds on past work, so advancements tend to build faster as time progresses, with the next advancement having borrowed from the previous. It is like a snowball rolling down hill.
2. Advancements happen when there is access to the previous bodies of work. When civilizations are toppled, often that body of work is lost and progress is reset, like when Egypt, which was quite advanced, was toppled. Same with the Mayans. We have not had an entire civilization destroyed in a while.

^^ Ko-sign, not to mention it waz only during the 1800^z that science waz accepted for the sake of knowledge, before then if u were 2 smart then u were a heretic and burned at the stake. Not to mention the rise in population and the global economy spurred growth in energy and weapons which lead to advancements in medicine and civil areas.

While good answers, lets take a look at the snowball effect? As I've stated earlier, every century, though more advanced, never was THIS different from the prior century. America was just founded not mor than 600 years ago.now all of a sudden we miraculously can do all this shit? It didn't evolve over hundreds of years, we literally went from 20mph to 2000 mph in 3.5 seconds! U dont think there was any outside influence? Doesn't it strike u as weird that 150 years ago the entire world was one way,and now we are 100 times more advanced? When in history did man make such leaps so fast? There is nothing normal about that historically speaking.and its all centered right here, in thea part of the earth nobody even knew about 600 years ago..very interesting

Not really strange to me. It is the law of exponents. Each time you double the number, it goes up by a greater distance. Many of the new discoveries are in thanks to the previous ones. It happens by accident sometimes and when something is discovered, many more people get interested and start working on expanding that. In fact, the think that really got everything to move at this pace is communication. Before the telegraph or phone, the only way you could share information was to tell the people in your immediate vicinity. As the world has shrunk, more people can get the knowledge and build on it.
Back to exponents, if our inventions double every 10 years, you can see here why it seems so fast
2x2=4
4x2=8
8x2=16
16x2=32
Etc...
You can see that the rate of change grows faster every decade.
Who said a former Gsta can't kick some knowledge.
