Maybe thats a factor but i specifically remember reading something that showed that most "italians" in the U.S wernt fully italian but half. Most were half irish , half english , etc etc. I forgot the article where i read it though. The fact that italian dominated places around the tri-state area (especially in new york) are being taken over by chinese , mexicans , puerto ricans , etc etc will only cause thjem (italians) to move more sparsely out which will ultimately contribute to more ethnic mixing amongst them.
