A 27-year-old woman accused of slaying a gang member during a Brooklyn dice game attack surrendered to cops, police said Tuesday.
Tyaisha Key was taken into custody alongside her lawyer on Monday, nearly two weeks after the NYPD said she was wanted for questioning. She arranged to meet with police at a location along Atlantic Ave. in Brooklyn.
Cops said witnesses identified Key as a suspect in the shooting death of 29-year-old Leonard Reddick, a Crips gang member with about 40 arrests and an affiliation with the Ralph Boys Crew.
She was charged Monday afternoon with murder, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal use of a firearm.
The victim, Reddick, was shot while drinking and playing craps outside Brownsville’s Union-Sutter Houses on June 21. The assailant’s gunfire erupted just after midnight, striking Reddick in the chest. He tried to flee the attack but collapsed and later died.
It’s unclear what sparked the dispute between Key and Reddick. Police said Key and the victim lived in the same neighborhood and knew each other.
Key was arrested once before in 2011 for filing a false report.
