the wire is about real characters slanging heavy weight it wouldnt work..none of them crews in the city is moving weight as a whole(few individuals doing they own thing outside of the set on the side)the rest of them individuals sets is broke

yeah i watched the wire before so i know what it is about but what i'm saying is it would be more interesting in my opinion if it was in NYC and it had the modern day gangs(ygz,blood,crip,YBz) in it..It would just be like the warrior but different more detailed nd it should show one gang on the come up (road to the riches).. :2cents:

Each season of the wire was about different political situations of Bmore. and not really about the drugs and violence that was just added to show how life in the hood and suburbs are effected by whats going on with the city.

So in that case i think a NY version would be cool to make. But at the same time difficult to create and capture since NYC is so big and its alot going on. Better cities i think would be like Newark (not cause im from jersey) CMD, DC, ATL, MIA, and more. cities that are smaller...

Lol i know i am a big fan of the wire.. the show was never really intended to focus on the drugs the way it did.. And beside season 1 and i think season 3 or 4 when marlo rose to power. they were the only ones to really focus on the drug game. season 2 was mostly about the ports.

i was just talking to some of my homies about this like how is it oz was on for like 20 seasons, the soparno's was on like for 10, u telling me they couldn't get a good 10 seasons out the wire?

second i agree nyc wouldn't be the best place for the wire because its to much going on, each boro is its on city with its own politics so that would be like the wire trying to cover 5 cities at once or having them stuck to just cover one boro..Its to much they would be better doing it jersey or even a chicago setting..U got remeber the wire covered not just the street level of the drug game but also the political level that takes place behind closed doors..I would love to see the wire in a nyc setting but its just to many parties involved and to much going on... :drama:

It could work in nyc, they could have it like on sum just in manhatten shit wit occasional trips 2 oher boros when niggaz gotta meet da connect or have static wit a rival crew. Givin everybody room 2 breath mite not be a bad idea. On. The wire whe they had barksdales crew vs stanfield crew shit was da da westside of da town, wit prop joe controllin da east. yea the large space could be a good or a bad thing..but u right it would leave alot of room to add to the story where it can mess around have like 100 seasons..

I think if they did a season of the wire in anther city that shit would be wack , not because im from here or that I wouldnt like them to hop on another city , but the whole story line was based off of this city so what would be the purpose of them jumping to newark , philly , ny , Dc or atl shit would be pointless for all that make anther show and call it something else

On another note even tho every season was based off real life people and situations and I do like the show , I think they focused on west Baltimore to much , in my eyes they made it look like west Baltimore is the only part in Baltimore where niggas jamming , like east side or south side dont have the same things going on in our neighborhoods , yeah you had the prop joes and cheese , and a couple others , even the white boys at the docks and shit but other then that it was all based over the west side

and if they do make anthor season they should focus on the issues going on now , Baltimore been gang infested for a long time now from the streets to the city and county jail , to the pens jessup , hagerstown to cumberland ect. and when I was comming up high school was crazy in every sense of the word crazy , teachers getting beat up , niggas gettin shot , to riots , to drug sales inside school , but this new generation of kids seem even worse then we were , so if they were to make anther season they need to go into detail about shit like that and show how it really is instead of sugar coating certin shit , but it wont happen if im not mistaken the reason they said they wasnt making any more season was because the police were reviling to much information about how they function and certin tactics they use so thats the end of that

they could pull nyc into it just off the strengh of amount new york hustlers that was and still is down in maryland, alot of dudes from ny are out there..i was actually type upset when they showed the new york hustlers getting killed and not striking bac, all of a sudden only people with guns was marlo crew..matter fact if i got one problem with the show it is the fact that they made it seem like marlo crew was the only ones putting in work and everybody else was punks, u would think after they kill a few people everybody would have armed up and start blasting bac..

see with that being said..its kinda hard to come out with another season & have it start brand new in a city.alotta dudes who watched the wire wouldnt feel that..like 6 seasons in 1 city then relocate in the 7th season.not gonna sit well with people following that episode to episode season to season

I wish they would... it's kind of sad I thought the show would launch a lot of careers but most of the actors are back in Bmore/DC where they came from working regular jobs.

but the wire has loyal watchers so long as the keep up the theme and pace we will still watch..
